Newman's shipping business on the French Broad River, serving stores and farmers in Sevier County until replaced by the road in the early twentieth century and the railroad soon afterward. It includes seven photos besides the one on the cover of the magazine, including one of John Walker, shopkeeper and grandfather of Cas Walker.
