An account of "all the information I know about my relatives of earlier days" along with stories of the community of Fork-of-the-River during the Civil War. After a section about her Kear ancestors, she tells stories about her Huskey ancestors and the mills along Mill Creek. This section includes descriptions of building cabins, eating ramps, and a visiting Cherokee man. The account will be continued in later issues.
