An extensive account of the author's life, from when she began high school in Sevierville and her family sold their farm to the GSMNP. Includes her time at the Smoky Mountain Academy, weaving for the Pi Beta Phi Sorority, initiating a hot lunch program in the schools during the Depression, living in Shady Grove, serving in its Baptist church, going to New Orleans for missionary education, teaching school in Pigeon Forge, and stories of some of her students.
